University of Manitoba - ACI Manitoba Chapter Scholarship
The American Concrete Institute (ACI) Manitoba Chapter has established an endowment fund at the University of Manitoba to support students studying Civil Engineering who have an interest in concrete. The fund supports an annual scholarship currently valued at $1,000. Each year, one scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student who:
(1) is enrolled full-time (minimum 80% course load) in the third year of the Civil Engineering program in the Faculty of Engineering;
(2) has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.5;
(3) has submitted an essay describing the applicant’s past experience, intended career plans and how these plans relate to concrete (500 words maximum).
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (or designate) will name the selection committee for this award, which will include one representative from the Manitoba Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and two members of the Department of Civil Engineering. Applicants should contact the University of Manitoba Faculty of Engineering directly to apply.
Red River College - American Concrete Institute (ACI) Manitoba Chapter Scholarship
Established by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Manitoba Chapter, an annual award of $1,000 available to a student enrolled in their final year of the Architectural/Engineering Technology, Municipal Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering Technology or Construction Management program at RRC. To be eligible, applicants must have attained a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA. To be considered, interested student should complete an application form and submit it along with a statement (paragraph) describing the applicant's past experience and intended career plans, and how these relate to concrete. Applicants should apply directly to the Red River College through the general award application process.
ACI MB Chapter Research and Education Equipment Funding (ACI-REEF) Program
The purpose of the ACI Manitoba Chapter Research and Education Equipment Funding (ACI-REEF) Program is to support the purchase, repair, or fabrication of equipment to support education and technical practice, scientific investigation, and research for the improvement of the design, construction, manufacture, use, and maintenance of concrete products and structures.
The ACI Manitoba Chapter will provide a one-time grant to a maximum of $15,000 to a single group/individual who has specific equipment needs required to support their research/education program. This is a one-time contribution and not an annual amount. ACI Manitoba Chapter may open the Program to additional grants in future years in varying amounts as funds may become available, subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
